Ensemble Sonora is a community of choral artists creating music that engages with the issues and stories that shape our world. Our inaugural project, We Hold These Truths, commemorates the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence through thoughtful musical reflection on equality, life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

What is Ensemble Sonora?

Ensemble Sonora (sonare: to resonate) is a treble ensemble under the direction of Dr. Wendy Moy, uniting musicians in Central New York to create music that resonates—both sonically and socially.

Each project is built around repertoire chosen for its artistry and expressive power — music that invites both performers and audiences to listen more deeply.

Ensemble Sonora is committed to the next generation of choral artists. We create intentional space for emerging artists to perform alongside experienced ones, gaining high level ensemble experience and artistic mentorship.

Our vision: Music that connects us to each other and to the world we share.

What we value: Artistic excellence. Social consciousness. Community engagement. Collaborative spirit.
