Syracuse Sonora is a newly-formed semi-professional treble ensemble creating music that engages with the issues and stories that shape our community. Our inaugural project commemorates the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence through thoughtful musical reflection on equality, life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

What is Syracuse Sonora?

Syracuse Sonora (sonare: to resonate) is a semi-professional treble ensemble uniting accomplished singers in Central New York to create music that resonates—both sonically and socially.

We're a project-based ensemble that gathers for intensive rehearsals leading to a performance exploring repertoire that matters—music that engages with the stories and issues shaping our community.

Our vision: Music that celebrates, challenges, and inspires.

What we value: Artistic excellence. Social consciousness. Collaborative spirit.

Who Sings With Us:

Syracuse Sonora brings together vocalists with professional level skills:

  • Music educators and private voice teachers

  • Conservatory and university-trained singers

  • Professional and semi-professional vocalists active in the field

As a treble ensemble, we welcome all singers in the upper voice range—sopranos, altos, and tenors—across all gender identities.
